Ahha! HP fans dominate the world!!!

Although I feel a bit disappointed that HBP did'nt earn the top spot at the US box office but glad that it wasn't New Moon who beated HBP ^^

I am very pleased and overjoyed to learn that it was the highest grossing film internationally.
Nothing can beat Harry.

I think it's so funny how people make such a big deal about how much money a film makes in america when hp is almost always the highest in international box office and that i find even more impressive, how our franchise transcends cultures and languages. ---- abandonedboyjon

The 10 MUST-SEE SEQUELS of 2010

1. HAIRSPRAY 2: WHITE LIPSTICK

"Hairspray" became the talk of the town in 2007 when it set the record for the biggest opening for a movie musical. Although the record was later broken by the release of "Mamma Mia!", the movie went on to be the fourth highest grossing musical in U.S. cinema history. Plus, it has been nominated in the Oscar Academy Award. Its commercial success soon led New Line Cinema to ask writer John Waters to pen "Hairspray 2: White Lipstick" despite the fact that the original film was based on the Broadway musical. While the first movie delves around early 60's music and highlights on the racial segregation, the sequel enters the late '60s era of music and takes a look at the British Invasion. There will also be 17 brand new songs from Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman to be expected.

Things you should know about Hairspray 2:
1. Tracy (Nikki Blonsky) is hated because she’s now famous but doesn’t lose weight.
2. Link (Zak Efron) gets a mop-top Beatles hairdo and tries to masquerade himself as a member of the British Invasion in an attempt to remain hip. The hair causes three pimples to spawn on his forehead, which he has “an ongoing dialogue” throughout half the movie. He also somehow accidentally experiments with acid. Shankman later said that Link’s drug storyline probably won’t make it into the final film.
3. Edna (John Travolta) gets hooked on diet pills, actually loses weight, but sees her husband (Christopher Walken) lusting after fat women. Shankman told MTV, “she finally breaks down and runs over to a snack table. Just within one number, she gets fat again; gaining 20 pounds at a time. [Her fat] pops out, and by the end of the song she’s completely at her old weight again.”
4. Velma Von Tussle (Michelle Pfeiffer) will likely not appear in the sequel due to the introduction of a new villain.
5. Someone gets drafted into war, but it isn’t Link.
6. New Line/Warner Bros has yet to official announce any actors/actresses for the sequel, but they have said that they hope to keep most of the original cast.
7. The film is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters in mid-July 2010.


2. SAW VII

Jigsaw may be six feet under, but his deadly games continue to live on through two of his accomplices, Mark Hoffman and Jill Tuck. But, with "Saw VI" underperforming the other "Saw" sequels and scoring the lowest worldwide gross of the series, what could the filmmakers do to steal interest back for "Saw VII"? The answer is simple, 3-D. Back in October, producer Mark Burg and co-writer Marcus Dunstan have confirmed that the latest and possibly the last installment of the annual Halloween horror series will be opened to view using the technology. If the conventional presentation of the traps has sent your heart racing, imagine what the 3-D will accomplish.


3. LITTLE FOCKERS

Been wondering how Greg, Pam and their eccentric parents are doing after their last crazy get-together in "Meet the Fockers"? "Little Fockers" will satisfy your curiosity. Having passed a series of unfortunate events to finally tie the knot, Greg and Pam find themselves five years later coping with twin toddlers in this follow-up of the highest grossing live action comedy in history. But, the Fockers' brood isn't the only subject matter presented to inflict humor. Writer John Hamburg promised that the movie will also deal with death and divorce, but "in a really comic way". Let's not forget also about Jessica Alba who is set to "wreak havoc on the male characters" as a sexpot pharmaceutical rep.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final instalment in J.K. Rowling's wizardly bildungsroman, is Globe Books' choice as Book of the Decade. Not only was it the single most awaited, debated and anticipated volume, it also can stand for Harry Potter as a phenomenon, for a series that grows more sophisticated and darker with each episode, a series in which millions of people fret over the fates of the beloved young wizard, his pals and mentors as they battle the forces of evil marshalled by Lord Voldemort.

Take sales: In the first 24 hours of its release on July 21, 2007, the novel sold a mind-boggling 15 million copies in 93 countries.

Take effect: Millions of children, especially boys, for whom reading had been something remote, intimidating, uninteresting, took to Potter as a wizard to a wand. You couldn't walk through a mall, an airport, a park without seeing one or another of the series in the hands of a young person. Synopsis: Two friends and business partners - an unlucky-in-love divorcee (Robin Williams) and fun loving bachelor (John Travolta) - have their lives turned upside down when strange circumstances lead to them being placed in the care of 7-year-old twins (newcomers Ella Bleu Travolta & Conner Rayburn) while on the verge of the biggest business deal of their lives. Why this??: The cast & trailer caught my eyes.

Why this??: After I watched the trailer, I thought it is a bit like the orphan. People has many good comments on this movie, so I would give it a try. After all, Renee is a great actress.

VALENTINE'S DAY Why this??: Mainly because of the TaylorS ^^ lols! 7. ALICE IN WONDERLAND Why this??: Tim Burton + Johnny Depp + Helena Bonham Carter = AN AWESOME COMBO!!! 8. UP IN THE AIR Why this??: It looks like an inspirational movie. 9. IT'S COMPLICATED Why this??: I can't say no to Meryl Streep & Steve Martin. 10. Why this??: I don't know but the cover of its original novel attracts me. 11. Henson, Mila Kunis, Common, Jimmi Simpson, Leighton Meester, Mark Wahlberg. Synopsis: Claire and Phil Foster (Tina Fey and Steve Carell) are a typical suburban couple whose lives – including their weekly date nights of dinner and a movie – have become routine. To reignite the marital spark, they visit a trendy Manhattan bistro where a case of mistaken identity turns their evening into the ultimate date night-gone-awry. Why this??: I first saw the trailer in the cinema when I watch Zombieland and I know I gotta watch this! Even if it's rated 18PG b/c I think it definitely will in M'sia. When it comes to comedy, Tina Fey & Steve Carell are both GENIUS!!! 12. KIDNAPPER Why this??: what? A Singapore movie? Not a comedy? WOW! 13. Relying on everything from a flying motorcycle and a statue that comes alive to a tree-climbing piglet and a baby elephant that turns up in the oddest places, Nanny McPhee conjures up just the right formula to teach her charges five new lessons. Why this??: There's rumor claimed that Emma Thompson won't be starring as Professor Trelawney in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows b/c of this film. The HP cast like Maggie Smith & Raplh Finnes definitely worth every penny. 18. THE KARATE KID Release Date: 10 June 2010 Language: English Running Time: 1 hour 48 minutes Director: Harald Zwart Cast: Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan. Synopsis: 11 year-old Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) and his mother, Sherry, are forced to move to Beijing, China as a result of a job transfer. Dre struggles to adapt and finds himself in trouble with one of the toughest boys at school. Unknown to Dre, Mr. Han, his apartment building's maintenance man and a retired karate instructor, has been secretly watching Dre's struggles. Mr. Han steps in to defend Dre and becomes his mentor. Why this??: Jaden is a very talented young actor (I guess he get the skills from his dad, it's in his blood.) 19. TOY STORY 3 Why this??: Toy Story is part of my childhood ^^

Novels from the Harry Potter series by author J. K. Rowling have been included in six of the ten spots on USA Today's list of the Top Ten Books of the 2000s. Miss Rowling's novels placed along side the popular Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer and the Dan Brown novel The Da Vinci Code on this list. The paper notes:

Human readers made it a big decade for novels about wizards, vampires and a Harvard symbologist. Two series for kids with "crossover" appeal to grown-ups —J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter and Stephenie Meyer's Twilight— swept nine of the top 10 spots on USA TODAY's best-selling books of the decade. Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code is No. 2.

Rowling was a best seller before 2000, when third book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire [sic] sold a record 3 million copies its first weekend.

By 2007's release of the finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, speculation about Harry's death (unfounded) rose to levels not seen since Charles Dickens' 19th-century serials. A record 8.3 million copies sold in a day.

First of all, congrats to Jo got 6 out of 10 spots!
However, I don't understand why on earth is Meyer’s Twilight above Jo and Harry Potter? All the other lists had Jo at the top with statistics…Why is Twilight at the top when HP has sold so many times more?! It said right in the article DH got over 8.5 million in the first 24 hours, and that hasn't happened in ages… bloody hell, so then why isn't it at the top???

I suspect Boggarts are behind it. RIDDIKULUS!!!
