Twilight Missing Scene from STEPHENIE MEYER
In the original Twilight manuscript, Bella, Edward, and Alice stayed behind in Phoenix while she healed and then drove home passing through Las Vegas on the way. This scene takes place in an unnamed Las Vegas casino. Bella still has a cast on her leg.
The next morning, we went to the casino. Natural light never came close to touching the gaming floor, so it was very easy. Edward told me it was generally expected for them to go lose some money in the hotel—a suite like ours was reserved for that special class of visitor known as high rollers.
As they walked—and I rolled in my wheelchair—through the acres of elegantly decorated casino floor, three times Alice paused at a particular slot machine and slid a card through the scanner. Each time she did this, sirens would blare, lights would revolve, and an electronic simulation of coins dropping indicated that her prize had been credited to her room. She tried to get me to do it once, but I skeptically shook my head.
"I thought you were supposed to lose money," I accused her.
"Oh, I will," she assured me. "But not until I make them sweat a little." Her smile was sinful.
We reached a more lavishly decorated division of the huge casino, where there were no slot machines or casually dressed tourists with plastic cups full of change. Plush chairs replaced the swiveling bar stools, and the voices were quiet, serious. But we continued still further, through a set of ornate gold doors into another room, a private room, more opulent yet. Finally I understood why Alice had insisted on the raw silk, emerald green wrap around dress she’d tied on me today, why she was wearing a long, white satin sarong—with a short lace top that bared her flat, white stomach—and why Edward was overwhelming and irresistible in another light silk suit. The players in this room were all dressed with an exclusive splendor whose expense was far beyond my imagining. A few of the impeccable older men even had young women in glittering, strapless gowns standing behind their chairs, just like in the movies. I pitied the beautiful women as their eyes swept over Alice and Edward, realizing their own deficiencies as they measured the first, and the deficiencies of their partners as they ogled the second. I was the enigma, and their eyes slid away from me unsatisfied.
Alice glided off toward the long roulette tables, and I cringed as I thought of the havoc she would wreak.
"You do know how to play black jack, of course," Edward bent forward to murmur in my ear.
"Are you kidding?" I felt the color drain from my face.
"Knowing your luck, I couldn’t lose any more thoroughly than by letting you play," he chuckled. He wheeled me toward a table with three empty chairs. The two immaculately dressed, exceptionally dignified Asian men glanced up in disbelief as Edward lifted me gently into one of the empty velvet chairs, and took the seat next to me. The delicate oriental beauty who stood at the end of the table watched with insulting incredulity as Edward caressed my hair possessively.
"Only use one hand," he breathed almost silently in my ear. "And keep your cards over the table."
Edward spoke a quiet word to the dealer, and two impressive stacks of dark blue chips appeared on the table in front of us. They had no numbers—and I didn’t want to know anyway. Edward pushed a small stack of his forward, and a larger stack of mine. I glared at Edward in embarrassed panic, but he just smiled impishly as the dealer dealt the cards swiftly around. I picked up my cards carefully with one hand, holding them rigidly above the table. I had two nines. Edward held his cards loosely; I could see he had a five and a seven. I glanced guardedly at the two gentlemen next to me, intent but terrified, watching carefully to see what the protocol was for a high rolling black jack table. To my relief, it seemed easy enough. The first swept the top of his cards briefly against the felt, and received a card, the second slipped the corner of his cards under his bet, leaving them on the table, and didn’t. I quickly put my cards down, shoving them awkwardly under my chips—cheeks flaming—when the dealer looked at me. Belatedly I noticed that the dealer had a queen. Edward brushed the table lightly, and the dealer threw a nine face up on the table in front of him. I glared at him, as the men beside me murmured appreciatively.
The dealer had a jack, and I lost, as did both Asian gentlemen. He smoothly relieved us of our chips. I heard a subdued commotion coming from the direction of the roulette table, but I was afraid to look. Edward pushed another stack of my chips onto the table, and it began again.
When my chips were gone, Edward passed me half of his, unable to contain his amused smile. He was doing well, winning three times as often as the other men at the table. But, with the size of my bets controlled by him, I was losing chips faster than he could rake them in. I had yet to win a hand. It was humiliating—but at least I was sure to never become a gambling addict.
Finally, I lost our last stack of chips. The Asian gentlemen, and their female escort, watched Edward with impressed curiosity as he could no longer contain his mirth, chuckling quietly, but with deep amusement, while he returned me to the wheel chair. I blushed and kept my eyes on the thick carpet as he pushed me away, still laughing.
"I’m the worst gambler in history," I muttered apologetically.
"Actually, you’re not. That’s what so funny." He laughed again. "You didn’t do one thing wrong, aside from playing a little conservatively. The odds that you would lose every hand…" He shook his head, grinning.
We got to the roulette table just in time to watch Alice lose her spectacular pile of multihued chips in one disastrous spin of the wheel. The many hopeful players who had bet with her on seventeen black looked murderously disappointed. She laughed, a trilling, carefree sound, and joined us.
"Did we lose enough?" I whispered as we exited the gold doors.
"I think the house is satisfied. You’re probably their favorite client today," he snickered.
"Please promise me one thing."
"Anything you want."
"Never, ever tell me how much money I lost today, please."
We were in the noisy casino by this time, and his laugh was unrestrained.

Breaking Dawn spilts into 2?? ~ not a good idea...
Recently everyone internally has been referring to it as "the Breaking Dawn films." That's right, you didn't imagine the plural ending there.
Still, nothing has been decided yet. Most likely what's happening is Rob 'n' crew agreed to a fourth…not fifth. Once the cast determines if they are up for five, then Melissa can plan accordingly about how to pen out this fourth flick.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, this may sounds incredible for the fans but not for me.
I just don't like the idea of 5 Twilight saga movies :-(
4 is perfect...

The HOST may be turned into movie
Variety reports that Stephenie Meyer's The Host may be turned into a movie:
Producers Nick Wechsler, Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz have used their own money to acquire screen rights to "The Host," the first adult novel written by Stephenie Meyer, author of the "Twilight" series.
Andrew Niccol will write the script and direct.
Meyer's novel is a love story set in the near future on Earth, which has been assimilated by an alien species of benevolent parasites that call themselves "Souls." One such soul, the Wanderer, is fused with a dying human named Melanie Stryder, in an attempt to locate the last pocket of surviving humans on Earth.
Wechsler and the Schwartzes are separately teamed on "The Road," the John Hillcoat-directed adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel that will be released Nov. 25 by the Weinstein Co. They are also producing the Paul Schrader-scripted "The Dying of the Light" and an adaptation of Pete Takada book "An Eye at the Top of the World," which Ryne Douglas Pearson is adapting.
In addition to writing four volumes of the "Twilight" series, Meyer has been heavily involved in the screen transfers, and she spurned several overtures for "The Host." The producers continued lobbying the author and her UTA reps with a significant offer, a strong vision for the project and a collaborative spirit. Meyer eventually said yes.
In fact, Niccol first came under consideration after Wechsler and the Schwartzes asked Meyer what her favorite science fiction films are. "Gattaca" and "The Truman Show" were in her top five; Niccol wrote and directed "Gattaca" and scripted the Peter Weir-directed "The Truman Show."
Niccol most recently wrote and directed Orlando Bloom starrer "The Cross."
"We wanted Stephenie to be involved in the adaptation and have her endorse and be part of the creative decisions," Wechsler said. "Twilight" has "proven she knows more about what works than most."
Sweet!

The Wizarding World of HP Theme Park UPDATES
Opening Date: Spring 2010
Official site: UniversalOrlando.com/harrypotter: contains FAQs about the park, concept art and a place to register for alerts.
Pictures: Concept art and more here in Leaky’s galleries.
Attractions:
- Hogwarts, with a ride contained inside the castle
- Three Broomsticks, likely to be made out of the old “Enchanted Oaks”
- Flying Ford Anglia ride (unconfirmed): May be a big-ticket attraction in which guests soar over the trees of the Forbidden Forest and above the grounds of Hogwarts inside the Anglia, all in the safety of a theater (possibly the currently-closed theater that used to house the “Eigthth Voyage of Sindbad.”)
- Hagrid’s Cottage: Confirmed recently with photos of completed construction
- Shrieking Shack, complete with death eaters and perhaps Voldemort scaring people (unconfirmed, probably for Halloween)
- Gringotts cart ride: (unconfirmed, however is possible to be part of ride inside Hogwarts castle)
- Stage show featuring the showdown with Voldemort at the end of book four (unconfirmed: the report said that there will be at least seven different actors rotating the part of Harry to perform this role)
- Dueling wizards traveling through the park (unconfirmed: the report to TLC containing this rumor said that casting was underway for all the main characters in the books, as well as a wand instructor for kids and other dueling wizards. The wizards would duel at certain areas of the park, so that the scenery can react – explosions, etc. – and stunts can be performed to simulate the effects of a magic duel).
- Dragon battle (unconfirmed: reportedly a current racing-coaster ride will be re-imagined as part of the Tri-Wizard tournament. There may also be a real Goblet of Fire sitting on an ‘ornate pedestal with magical blue flames licking out of the top’)
- Flying Hippogriff (unconfirmed: supposedly an old Flying Unicorn ride re-imagined; line will go through the garden of Hagrid’s Hut)
Events:
Opening gala event (confirmed)
Actor Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) is first Harry Potter cast member to officially visit park under construction. Photos here from visit on January 4, 2009.
News:
1) Emma Watson confirms Trio have recorded a piece of film that will be shown to fans as part of an interactive ride at the Theme park.
2) Producer David Heyman confirms three rides to be included at Theme park including ride through the Hogwarts castle.
3) Names registered by Universal Orlando match the many names rumored, including the Three Broomsticks (concept models here in galleries) Hogsmeade Village, and Flight of the Hippogriff
Rumors:
Status: Unconfirmed.
In November 2007, Jim Hill media reported that there may be plans for a yearly “Holidays at Hogwarts” event, with carolers in the streets and an English Christmas feast prepared nightly at the Great Hall in Hogwarts Castle. There also may be plans for a Halloween party that will counteract Disney’s “Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party” at DisneyWorld,” called “Halloween at Hogwarts.” Traditionally the adults go to Universal’s “Halloween Horror Nights” while the kids do Disney’s scream-free version: the Hogwarts incarnatio would be a “deliberately scare-free environment,” according to JimHillMedia.

President Obama's Education Speech
But the truth is, being successful is hard. You won’t love every subject you study. You won’t click with every teacher. Not every homework assignment will seem completely relevant to your life right this minute. And you won’t necessarily succeed at everything the first time you try.
That’s OK. Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who’ve had the most failures. JK Rowling’s first Harry Potter book was rejected twelve times before it was finally published. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team, and he lost hundreds of games and missed thousands of shots during his career. But he once said, "I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."
These people succeeded because they understand that you can’t let your failures define you – you have to let them teach you. You have to let them show you what to do differently next time. If you get in trouble, that doesn’t mean you’re a troublemaker, it means you need to try harder to behave. If you get a bad grade, that doesn’t mean you’re stupid, it just means you need to spend more time studying."
~Every great wizard in history has started out as nothing more than what we are now, students. If they can do it why not us?~

~QUOTES~ III
- Forbidden to remember, terrified to forget; it was a hard line to walk.
- It is my belief... that the truth is generally preferable to lies.
- Numbing the pain for a while will make it worse when you finally feel it.
- If you love something but you can't own it just let it go, if it comes back to you it's yours, if it doesn't, it never was.
- It didn't feel like the pain had weakened over time, rather that I’d grown strong enough to bear it.
- As much as I struggled not to think of him, I did not struggle to forget.
- Instead of shying away from the memories, I’d walked forward and greeted them.
- I was not allowed to think of him. That was something I tried to be very strict about. Of course I slipped; I was only human.
- Between pain and nothing, I’d chosen nothing.
- What was I doing? I should be running from this memory as fast as I could, blocking the image from my mind, protecting myself with the numbness I couldn't function without.
- Time passes. Even when it seems impossible. Even when each tick of the second hand aches like the pulse of blood behind a bruise. It passes unevenly, in strange lurches and dragging lulls, but pass it does. Even for me.
- I wondered how long this could last. Maybe someday, years from now—if the pain would just decrease to the point where I could bear it—I would be able to look back on those few short months that would always be the best of my life. And, if it were possible that the pain would ever soften enough to allow me to do that, I was sure that I would feel grateful for as much time as he’d given me. More than I’d asked for, more than I’d deserved. Maybe someday I’d be able to see it that way.
- As if he’d never existed? That was insanity. It was a promise that he could never keep, a promise that was broken as soon as I’d made it.
- Pain sometimes has no expired date.

Jo is working on HP encyclopedia!!! ^~^
In the middle of this interview, Mr. Rankin notes that while he has not seen the Harry Potter author in some time, he said she "was working on her Harry Potter encyclopedia" and "drawing family trees for all the characters, going back generations."
This of course is not a surprise as Jo has said many times in the past that she is working again on various projects, as highlighted last year when she confirmed she was writing again in cafes, and has often expressed her desire to create the definitive encyclopedia of the beloved Harry Potter world.

*ECLIPSE* ~ Bella's NEW WIG
This cannot be the best wig they could find. The hairline is odd. It’s like Jacob’s hairline from the first movie. Is this Jacob’s wig? Did they recycle? Come on now, they should have enough budget for a better one since this is now one of the most successful movie sequel in the industry.
Bella with her real hair in New Moon
Billions of fans from worldwide are waiting to see the film, and the wig is now a huge disappointment. There are more than 100 of comments from the fans since this morning and still increasing wildly every minutes. Most of them are negative. Here's some of the comments.

The wig could be worse ;) Recall all the bad wigs in Twilight?? It's just not ever gonna be as good as her real hair. I wonder why she thought it was ok to jack her hair all up for the other film she was making, but didn't care about what she'd look like in Eclipse?

OMFG!!I hate the wig so bad!=( and didn't love the make up either she is not suppose to look that white..ohh c'mon..
Eclipse is my favorite book and this wig issue is just killing my 'Eclipse Movie' buzz....Hope that ugly mess doesn't go flying off when they are filming the leg hitch scene!

okay guys i agree about the wig :( seems a little off to me. makes her look different.

I like the wig I think it looks fine her hair is different in the other twilight saga movies so I really dont see what the big deal is

I think the wig is actually really very good. In fact when you compare images side by side (http://arandomchic.hyperchat.com/bellahair.jpg), I don't think the average person would ever notice.
The only reason people here are so "upset" is that they know what she normally looks like. Once the movie actually comes out, I'm guessing most people will totally forget they ever bitched about the wig in the first place.

I, for one, will criticize all I want since I am contributing to Summit getting rich. Secondly, I really don't have anything else to do right now than to discuss the wig. What is interesting to me, if this was any other cast member that we're commenting on, nobody would moralize like they do when it comes to KStew. Suddenly there is a crowd defending KStew when it's sooo clear that wig IS NOT WORKING - I don't care on who's head that thing is. I swear people are in such denial that they would applaud and cheer if she smeared shit all over her head. However, she is a lead in this movie that will be present on the screen for most of the movie and something has to be said or done. A fact.
And I will criticize KStew (yes you heard me) when I say she didn't think things through when getting that mullet. It screams Rebel without a cause.
AustinMamaDrama said...
You think Summit could have paid more than $8 for that wig. Seriously. It's not that hard, people.

not a fan, not a fan. Has me a bit worried.. but I'm not gonna freak out about it.

you guys really don't like the wig? i think it's waaaaaay better than the last one. I think it looks pretty real!

Kristen looks great, as she always does. I have to agree with some of the above comments. If you didn't know it was a wig you would think she changed the style a little. Give the girl a break.

LOl, this is cracking me up. It does look a litle like Jacobs wig hairline, I have to agree with Lainey on that. But it isnt soooo bad. COuld be worse. I love these stills though!!!!

I am laughing my butt off! Of all things that are wrong in this world...Her Wig!? Granted the hairline looks off, but it is not that horrible. All we have seen are a few pics from the set and everyone is freaking out. I don't know about you, but when I go to watch Eclipse...her hair will be the LAST thing I am thinking about.
BTW, we don't own Kristin's hair, body or soul! If she wants to cut her hair for a role, go for it! She cares about the Twilight films, but she also has other interests...

The hair sucks, period. Of all the complicated and expensive special effects they produce on film, they can't do something as simple as make a wig look more natural? I want to get lost in the story as a whole, not in the bits and pieces that put it together. It's like watching a dance routine and listening to the dancers count the steps! Call it trivial if you like, but I don't want to be staring at her hairline the entire time she's talking.
......
Kristen's undergone a hair makeover for her role as Joan Jett in Runaways.
